Tips to help you cruise through the IEP
The front page of the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) gives important information about services provided, including dates for reviews as well as contact information for parents. This page is followed by a page explaining future goals (provided by you at the initial IEP meeting) and Present Levels of performance which give a snap shot of your child's level of functioning academically, socially and emotionally. This may include information provided by Speech and Language Pathologist, therapists, the School Psychologist, as well as your child's classroom teacher and the Intervention Specialist assigned to provide Special Education services for your child (which would be me, Marla Waldron).
Next, you will find pages explaining yearly goals and short term objectives listed according to subject level (reading, math, writing, etc.) with dates of expected mastery. You will receive progress reports every 5 weeks documenting your child's progress toward mastery of each of his/her goals.
Please contact the Intervention Specialist if you have any questions about your child's IEP or Progress Reports: Marla Waldron #619-1776. See the parent survey on drop down tab to provide input for your child's Individualized Education Plan. Thank you for taking the time to check out my website. Be sure to visit often for updates.
